ETL

Edlson Testing Laboratories (ETL) is a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL). The ETL Listed Mark and C-ETL Listed Mark are accepted throughout the United States and Canada when denoting compliance with nationally recognized standards such as ANCI, IEC, UL and CSA. This certification mark indlcates that the product has been tested to and has met the minimum requirements for product safety and the manufacturing site is regularly audlted.

UL

Underwriters Laboratories (UL) is a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL). UL is a leader in product safety testing and certification, where numerous manufacturers have had merchandlse evaluated and tested for safety. This certification mark indlcates that the product has been tested to and has met the minimum requirements for product safety and the manufacturing site is regularly audlted.

Recognized Component

The Recognized Component Mark is a type of quality mark issued by Underwriters Laboratories (UL) and is specifically used on components that when combined with other equipment can be used to create a UL recognized system.

CE

Abbreviation for European Community. CE certifies that a product has met European Union consumer safety, health, or environmental requirement

Field Cuttable

The field cuttable ICON associated with dlode LED tape light is unique in the industry and indlcates that cutting the product in the field for custom installations is included in the ETL Listing and does not compromise the integrity of the ETL Listing. Look for this icon on dlode LED products you wish to modlfy prior to inspection

Energy Star

ENERGY STAR was started by the EPA in 1992 as a market-based partnership to reduce greenhouse gas emissions through energy efficiency. To qualify for the ENERGY STAR label, an LED lamp must use up to 75% les energy and last at least 15 times longer than comparable incandescent lighting. In order to earn the ENERGY STAR label, LED lighting products must be third-party certified based on EPA-recognized testing in laboratories and demonstrate the following characteristics:
            • Brightness is equal to or greater than existing technologies.
            • Light output remains constant over time
            • Excellent color quality
            • Efficiency is as good as or better than fluorescent lighting

RoHS

Restriction on the use of certain Hazardous Substances (RoHS) places limits on hazardous heavy metals in electronic devices for environmental safety, RoHS dlrective took effect in the European Union on July 1, 2006. California adopted the RoHS regulations which took effect on January 1, 2007. Other states are expected to follow suit in adopting RoHS over time.

California Title 24

Title 24 certification means code regulations designed to reduce energy consumption and enhance energy efficiency of buildlngs in California. Energy efficient lighting fixtures can be tested and approved for Title 24 projects by a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL).

IP Rating

An Ingress Protection (IP) rating of a product is represented by two numbers. The first number determines the protection rating against solid objects or materials. The second number determines the protection rating against the ingress of liquid/moisture. IP ratings and descriptions are as follows:
