Nisa-Ni
Illumination of niches with the effect of a thin edge of a suspended ceiling

Application

- ambient lighting of architectural niches located a short distance from the wall and directed towards it

Assembly

- using screws appropriately selected for the mounting surface

Additional information

- the light source is placed in the easily disassembled ONISA lighting fixture
NISA-NI is a cove lighting system which consists of the TENI mounting base and ONISA extrusion. The complete set enables the parallel or perpendicular direction of light to the wall (ONISA extrusion can be fixed in the mounting base in either a parallel or perpendicular fashion). The TENI mounting base is designed for drywall edge mounting. The lower edge of the TENI strip is an extension of the recess, and once sealed, forms a thin aesthetic edge. Turn off LED lights during peak day light hours in outdoor applications to avoid excessive heat buildup which will result in diminished LED life.

Here in the US, one of the more important features of LED lighting in direct view, is to achieve “a clean line of light” or in other words, no visible diodes from the LED tape light inside the fixture. Distilling this design constraint down to its basic components produces: Cones of Light and Covers. Expanding on these two characteristics gives us four elements of control when designing a fixture: Cover type, LED spacing, LED output, and Cover to LED spacing.
